Improving Mental Health Information Programme (iMHIP) has been developed to catalyse the multiple changes needed to improve the type, content, system and use of care information to support:

1) The integrated provision of individual - centred care
2) Clinical governance and quality improvement
3) Public health, performance management, strategic planning and research

Mental Health Tribunal Scotland decides on legal matters under the Mental Health Act and removes the need for hearings to be held in a Sheriff Court. Instead independent tribunal hearings involving 3 member panels.

The tribunal panel is made up of a legal member, who is also the convener, a medical member and a general member; all have relevant qualifications and experience in dealing with people with mental health disorders.

Hearings are held in a venue local to the patient wherever possible, at this they will have the right to be represented and to participate in the proceedings.
