NSF (SCOTLAND) CONGRATULATES SISTER ORGANISATION NSF ON ITS NEW NAME AND IMAGE
The National Schizophrenia Fellowship (Scotland) today congratulates the National Schizophrenia Fellowship, on its new name and image, Rethink. The original organisation was set up in 1972 by families of those with schizophrenia and severe mental illness and seperated in 1984. NSF have continued to provide support in the UK outside Scotland since then. This change of name and image will not be taking place within NSF (Scotland)
NSF (Scotland), an independent Scottish Charity, works to improve the well-being and quality of life of those affected by schizophrenia and other mental illness, including families and carers. We do this through campaigning, education and the provision of practical help, advice and support to individuals, communities and organisations across Scotland.
Susan Kirkwood, Chairman of NSF (Scotland), said: We maintain friendly relations and contact with NSF but we are separate. We will continue as the National Schizophrenia Fellowship (Scotland) unless and until the majority of our members want to change our name.
