About the author of this Website

Hi, I'm Christopher Bransby Clarke.

I was born in Brampton in Cumbria in 1963, October the 5th, to be precise. My mother, Graylene gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby boy that was me (my father had something to do in the process, I believe!) and now I'm 35.

I did alright at school, especially at maths and music.

I have always enjoyed intellectual stimulation like Rubik's cube, wood puzzles and West Sound Radio's brain teasers, and science, computing and the like - all fun and games.

My girlfriend is fun to be with. She can beat the Radio Shack 1750L chess computer that I gave her on her birthday. She is a bright girl. Her name is Helen Hughes and she's my scouser bike chick.

In 1984 I was diagnosed as having schizophrenia. I was 21. With me the condition seemed to peak at times of stress - usually when I had work/relationship problems in the past. However, now I'm well and can easily get on with day-to-day life. Sometimes in the past I got a bit low, and felt that I couldn't cope, but thankfully this feeling passed quite quickly. I am truly grateful for all the support I get from Helen, all my friends, my parents Bransby and Graylene, my three sisters Kate, Anna and Jennie and their families, my brother Paul, my cousins, aunts and uncles and all my extended family; my nurses, G.P.s and Psychiatrists, past and present, Alan my Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) and all my previous CPNs, Katy my ex-Primary Nurse at the Day Hospital I attended* and local NSF(Scotland) workers. And everyone else who has helped me to get where I am today. Onwards and upwards! Thanks guys and dolls! :-)

* I have been discharged from the Day Hospital - I'm too well to attend there!

This Website was created 100% by me, but I could not have achieved this without support from David Todd (Genesis Software Project Manager ...and here I would like to say a big "HALLO!!!" to everyone at 2 Gordon Street, Dumfries - keep WORKING! Harder, HARDER! CRACK THAT WHIP! Anyone caught slacking will be made to work overtime! But seriously... you folks are doing real good work... onwards and upwards! ), and information and advice from Ian Harper (Information Officer, NSF(Scotland), Edinburgh), for which I am grateful. I would also like to thank Susan Kirkwood (Vice Chairman, NSF(Scotland)).
